The Lifelong Friends Dream Team

The Dream Team is a group of caring children from the Greater Austin Area who are coming together to help raise money critical to our no-kill shelter. Team spokesperson Carley Smith, age 13, says,

“Lifelong Friends is important because they give animals a second chance at life. They don’t euthanize pets. We’ll be asking people to give as much as they can. If everyone gave as little as $5, we could keep the shelter working and let staff focus on caring for the animals instead of worrying about money.”

Beginning on February 14, Valentine’s Day, the Dream Team launched “It Starts With Hearts,” a countywide fundraising campaign to raise $50,000 to help sustain the shelter through spring. The Dream Team challenge ended on May 23. Unfortunately, the fundraising concert event in Burnet, Texas, hosted by singer/songwriter Mark Allan Atwood was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
